Dear New Haven Ballet Friends and Families,

The fall is upon us, and it's time to dance. To all our new students,  Welcome. To all our returning students,  Welcome back. An exciting year is ahead of us all.

You'll see some new faces this fall, as many new students have enrolled in classes. Patricia Seto-Weiss and Talia Vendetto have joined our superb faculty in both the New Haven and Branford studios. We have also lined up master classes with teachers from world-class pre-professional schools. I am particularly proud to announce that  Christopher DeNofrio has accepted the position of Director of the Children's Division of New Haven Ballet. Before joining the NHB faculty in 2014 Mr. DeNofrio performed in a variety of principal roles and was Associate Director of Louisville Ballet. He will bring experience and vision to our Branford location and Children's Division.

If it's fall, it must be  Nutcracker time. This year, we'll once more be performing our traditional holiday classic at the Shubert Theater with the New Haven Ballet Orchestra December 9-11.  Auditions will be held on September 17-18. Whether you're a Mouse or a Snowflake, a Party Child or in the Spanish Hot Chocolate corps, dancing in  The Nutcracker is an experience that you'll treasure for a lifetime.

So start stretching and get ready to jump into a fall of fun and challenge with New Haven Ballet.  Registration is open. We look forward to seeing you in class!

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Sanborn
Artistic Director
New Haven Ballet

Pointe Shoe Sewing Workshop

Thank you to the faculty, students and families who made the pointe shoe
sewing workshop on September 10 so successful! The students in Level 4
had an opportunity  to learn first hand from experienced Level 7s and 8s
how to prepare their  first pairs of pointe shoes. NHB's wonderful faculty
were on hand to oversee  fittings and assist with resolving any issues.
