10% Campaign
|
The 10% Campaign is a project of the Center For Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS). The campaign encourages you to spend 10% of your existing food dollars to support North Carolina food producers, businesses and communities. Why 10%? In North Carolina, we spend $35 billion on food every year. If we spend 10% of our food dollars on local product, we can infuse over $3.5 billion into the local economy. As avid supporters of the Durham Farmers' Market, you already know the many advantages to shopping locally. So, why join the campaign? It will re-affirm your commitment to shopping locally and it sends a strong message to policy makers about the importance of local foods! For more information visit: www.nc10percent.com |

The crisp fall air reminds us that the seasons have officially changed and that winter and the holidays will be here before we know it.
It's hard to believe that tomorrow marks the end of the Wednesday Market season.
Thank you to all of our wonderful customers who joined us week after week at the Wednesday Market. From glorious weather to extreme heat and downpouring rain, we've been through the elements together this season. Here are some photos to remind you of the fun we've had at the Wednesday Market. Don't forget that our Saturday Market is year-round and we hope to see you there!
We kicked off the season on April 20 and were joined by some amazing dancers.
We couldn't get enough of the delicious strawberries
and friendly faces in the spring.
Our Sprouts Club started in June and we had a blast learning something new with your kids every week.
What would summer be without tomatoes?
In August we celebrated National Farmers' Market Week
with markets across the country.
The Sprouts Club ended on a high note when the Boy Scouts
taught us how to cook on the grill with foil packets!
We will miss all the friendly faces at the Wednesday Market and look forward to seeing you all on Saturdays!
Thank you for your support. See you tomorrow!
