The Tiger's Roar!
Your Community Brief from Jones High School
Monday, August 14, 2017

We are so excited to begin the 2017-2018 school year! We'd like to give you a brief overview of what to expect the first week of school. All students should be on campus by 7:00 a.m. to ensure they have enough time to eat breakfast before the bell rings. If your child does not have a copy of their schedule, a staff member will be happy to direct them to their first period class. Every student will get a new copy of their schedule in first period.

Our Guidance Counselors are working overtime to ensure every student is placed correctly. Please complete this online form to request any schedule changes. Note: students must be signed in to their OCPS student email or they will get an error message that the form is restricted. Requests will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. If a schedule change is made, your student will be notified by Guidance. You can also view changes on ProgressBook. Students should not go to the Guidance office unless they are called by their Counselor.

Bell Schedule - Any student who is staying after school for any reason must report to the cafeteria at 1:35 pm. This includes students waiting for a ride home.

Bus Transportation - OCPS Bus Transportation Call Center Help Desk 407.317.3807

Dress Code & Electronics Policy - The dress code and electronics policies are in place from day one. Please take a moment to review them to ensure your student is in compliance.

Meals - We provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. There is no paperwork for you to complete. We also have a supper program where students can get a meal in the cafeteria immediately after school.

Physicals - All athletes must have a current physical on file. Packets are available in the front office.

This year we welcome Ms. Smith to our team as an ELEVATE teacher.

"Our stories are part of American history and the youth of today will be the history makers of the future. The time we have with each student as Teacher/Mentors is priceless. Our students have unlimited potential!"
