Here's Your Chance to Perform one or more Works of Mercy!

SATURDAY: To Feed the Hungry and To Give Drink to the Thirsty

We will be preparing and serving dinner to the St. Agatha's community on Saturday. St. Agatha is our Sharing Parish and is located at 3141 W. Douglas Blvd in Lawndale. Meet us there at 3pm, or meet in the parking lot at 2pm to carpool with the group.

Please Sign Up here. We still need a few more volunteers, 4 pans of cooked pasta, and some cases of water.  You can drop off the food items beforehand if you aren't available to volunteer.  Come on out for Lent!

SATURDAY: To Instruct the Ignorant

First, let's return to the original definition of the word "Ignorant", meaning "lacking in knowledge."
Help "Instruct" our parishioners by providing them information about Holy Week and Easter contained in our parish Easter mailing.  We need help to stuff the mailing on Saturday from 9 - 11 am.  Sign up here. We have been working on updating our Parish List, so if you have recently moved, please contact the Parish Office (office@stjosaphatparish.org) with your updated information.  It's a nice way to spend the morning with fellow parishioners, and there will be donuts!!

SUNDAY: To Shelter the Homeless

Living in Chicago, all of us pass homeless people, and many of us wonder how to help. Here's one way: don't pass judgement like the scribes in this weekend's Gospel and give him or her a McDonald's or Dunkin' Donuts gift card that volunteers are handing out after Masses this weekend. And/or take it a step further: BE ONE OF THOSE VOLUNTEERS that hands out the gift cards (provided by the parish). It just takes 10 minutes. Sign up here.

SUNDAY: Give Yourself a 2-Hour Respite

We're losing an hour on Saturday night, give yourself 2 hours back!

Come join us at the Parishwide Lenten Respite next Sunday, March 13 from 1:15 - 3:15pm. Or just come for the Noon mass, and stay for the Respite! Invite your friends!

Sr. Alicia Torres, a 30-year-old Franciscan Sister, will be leading us in prayer and reflection on mercy and forgiveness. Sr. Alicia serves in the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in West Humboldt Park and is also a winner of the Food Network's Chopped. Sr. Alicia is a dynamic leader and will help us explore further the theme of mercy Pope Francis has proposed this year.

Why not temporarily leave behind the usual distractions we all face for a time long enough to relax and let inner change occur? Get away, disconnect from life, and reconnect to God in order to become the person He has called you to be.
