Journeyman Distillery's Ravenswood Rye is HERE! To celebrate, we're having a special tasting at the bottleshop tonight from 6-8 pm. Less than 360 of the limited-release bottles are being released for the Chicago market, so this is one of a few chances to get your paws on one - as well as get a taste of several other awesome spirits in Journeyman's collection.

This batch of Ravenswood Rye is the first that has been produced at the Journeyman distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan - the first batch created when the folks at Journeyman were working as apprentices at Chicago's own Koval Distillery. The new mash bill consists of the same balance of rye and wheat as the first batch, with the wheat coming from the great state of Michigan and the rye from Minnesota. Master Distiller Bill Welter focused on a similar flavor profile (hints of butterscotch on the nose, smoothness on the palate only found with organic grain), but the use of different grain sources, and a different still, could provide some pleasant and unique surprises.
