New York Giants' Justin Pugh Plays Golf to Help ACF

New York Giants' offensive lineman Justin Pugh took time out from his busy schedule on a sunny Friday to play a round of golf to help the Autism Cares Foundation.

The always-gracious Pugh, who attended Council Rock High School South, agreed to auction off a golf outing at the recent Autism Cares Foundation Spring Gala, held to raise money to support more than 150 free activities per year and to bring awar eness for the local autism community.

The golf outing was donated by, and took place at, the Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland, PA on June 17.  Pugh had the best round, but clearly everyone was a winner. "I've been involved with Autism Cares Foundation for the past few years now, and everything that they do is unbelievable," said Pugh, a golf enthusiast.

"The support that they provide the community is remarkable," Pugh said. "So, if I can play my small role, and help change and make some people's lives better, I am more than happy to do that."

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for auction winners and Giants' fans, Bobby Desandre, 36, of Hamilton, New Jersey, and his brother-in-law, Christian McLaughlin, 25, of West Chester, after McLaughlin's mother won the unique prize during Autism Cares Foundation's recent Spring Gala Live Auction.

McLaughlin says it was the perfect day to play golf and talk about football and shared experiences with Pugh. "Everyone played pretty well, the weather cooperated, and we appreciated that Justin is a really down-to-earth guy, so it was a great deal of fun."

Linda and Frank Kuepper, Co-Founders of Autism Cares Foundation, came out to the first hole to thank Pugh for donating his time and to wish all of the players a great round of golf.

"We are so appreciative that Justin Pugh continues to come home and make our children and adults with autism, and other special needs, a priority in his busy life," Linda Kuepper said. "Justin is an outstanding professional athlete who cares about his community and the special needs individuals who live here. He is a phenomenal role model and an amazing friend to Autism Cares Foundation."

Volunteer Of The Month- Mike Teitleman

For the past two years, Mike Teitleman has been volunteering with Autism  Cares Foundation in connection with Kids 4 Community Service.  This organization provides students with the opportunity to lead their peers in various types of community service projects.  Mike has volunteered at many events for ACF such as social events; Halloween Dance, FitLife, Holiday Party, and the annual Race for Resources, just to name a few.  At many events he was a leader with the Photo Booth from Kids 4 Community.

It is so rewarding to watch Mike gain experience as a leader and learn how to give back to his community.  Thank you Mike for everything you do for the Foundation.  It is a pleasure seeing him work and socialize so closely with our special children and be able to enhance their social experiences. Mike truly takes all that he does to the next level!

If you would like to be a "Friend of the Foundation" check out our volunteer opportunities.
