Your Vacation Bible School Can Work at City Mission, too!
|
In June, Abundant Life Baptist Church created a neat aspect into their Vacation Bible School week: outreach in local community organizations. City Mission was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the local outreach groups that Abundant Life visited. Twenty-eight young volunteers showed up at the Mission prepared to help sort and organize donations for our Samaritan Care Center, which provides necessities to the working poor in the community. The group also generously collected non-perishable food items and presented City Mission with a donation check at their closing ceremony. What an incredible blessing! Thank you Abundant Life Baptist Church!
If you would like to incorporate a day at City Mission as apart of your Vacation Bible School, youth retreat or any other program please contact Sue Gartland to schedule, (724) 222-8530 ext. 248.

Edible Donations
|
This past week, City Mission participated in a tradeshow with the Southpointe Chamber of Commerce. It was an excellent opportunity to bring awareness to City Mission while meeting local business leaders. Three of our staff members, Cathy Zuback, Shelby Knapp and Jim Kulic had the opportunity to share Christ, cultivate some important connections with the community, and even won some raffle prizes! While at the tradeshow, City Mission staff met Donna, owner of Edible Arrangements, who graciously donated her delicious fruit kabobs for the City Mission residents to enjoy. We are so thankful for the sweet treats and the time of fellowship with corporate leaders.
