Paying Employees
Determining Compensable Time for Non-Exempt Employees

Most employers do not realize the situations in which employees must be compensated. If the FLSA regulations are not met, you could be forced to pay additional straight time and/or overtime pay for even your most highly paid employees.

This webinar will address the subject of "compensable" time, the work and non-working time for which hourly employees must be paid. Time which you consider non-work may be, in reality, work time for which pay is required.

Remember, multiple employees can sit around one computer screen to view the webinar for one registration (one login).

Each webinar is recorded and archived online for three (3) later viewings. If you are unavailable during the live webinar, you can still register and view the archived webinar at a later date.

Webinar

You will learn:

  • The basic overtime rules.
  • When pay for unauthorized overtime is required.
  • Proper time clock rounding rules.
  • How to identify compensable preliminary and postliminary activities.
  • When compensation for travel time is required.
  • The pay rules for common work place issues.
  • The special concerns when employing telecommuting employees.
  • When on-call employees have to be compensated.
  • How to use special rules for individuals in training.
  • How to address small increments of compensable time.
  • The costs of being wrong.
