Red Hot 2014

Thank you to everyone who came out to this year's Red Hot celebration! You and Oilcan Harry's helped raise over $16,000 for people living with HIV/AIDS at Project Transitions. That is truly incredible.

We'd also like to give a personal thank you to Dane Smith, General Manager, and the staff at Oilcan Harry's, and an extra special thank you to Steve Higginbotham. We were proud to present Steve with a trophy in his honor from Project Transitions. This event wouldn't go on without him and all of the staff at Oilcan's. We couldn't imagine it any other way!

Closer to the Cure?

As mentioned in the last newsletter, Project Transitions wants to bring you more real news in the HIV/AIDS world. If you haven't checked out HIV Plus Magazine, we highly recommend it if you're looking to stay on top of the latest news and prevention trends.

You can also keep an eye on our Facebook page! We'll keep you updated through the month. Take a look at a recent article we love, click here.

Here we go again! The parents rejoice, the kids try to make each day last a little longer, and the clock ticks the seconds away to... the first day of school! This school year, Project Transitions' kids need your help. We're in need of school supplies for all ages and especially need back packs. Wondering what kinds of supplies? Click here to check out the list! We also have some teens who could really use a flash drive in today's digitally driven world.

If you'd like to donate, you can bring items to our main office, located at 7101B Woodrow Ave, 78757. Remember, school can be a blast, but without the right supplies it can really be a drag. Help prepare a child to enjoy learning!

... this year's PRIDE celebration!

This year, PRIDE has been extended an extra day to include the Saturday before the parade. The official first day will be September 13th, and it will go on until the day after the parade, September 21st. They have an incredible week planned for everyone, including the second annual WERK Fashion show. It's going to be fabulous, y'all.

To see the full schedule of events, click here, or keep an eye on the Project Transitions' Facebook! We'll keep you posted on the fun. Hope to see you there!

This year, AIDS Walk Austin has true style. It has just been announced that Mondo Guerra, from Project Runway, is the 2014 honorary chair! You can read more about their decision to chose him here.

Project Transitions is starting to put a team together! If you'd like to join our team, please contact Ricardo Jimenez at 512-454-8646 ext. 104 or email at rjimenez@projecttransitions.org.
