"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
- Albert Schweitzer
When we face failures, heartbreaks, or affliction, our inner flame gradually starts to fade. Sometimes we try to mask our pain with materialistic things or new relationships so that we don't have to feel or grieve. That flame only gets fanned for a little while and then it's back to where it was, small and dim.
This painting Flame is the conception of that everlasting glow. It's not about finding or creating a new flame. Nor is it about reviving the existing flame. It's about realizing that we have a flame still in us. It's about keeping the flame alive, may it be dim or bright. Once we have the awareness of our flame, we can attain inner peace.
