Super Summer Series: Homeless Heroes

Stone Soup Volunteer Event

Date/Time: Saturday, July 9, 9:30 - 11:30am
 
Location: Lighthouse Shelter 10 Hudson St., Annapolis

Bring your whole family and join us to assemble meals for people in need who are guests of Lighthouse Shelter. Inspired by the children's story, Stone Soup, we ask for each family member participating in the event to bring an item from our grocery list. Once you have registered, we will send you a follow up email indicating which ingredients your family should provide. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome, so invite your friends and neighbors to join the fun!

Cleanup of Battle Acre, Northpoint Battlefield Park, and Methodist Meeting House Monument
Clean Bread and Cheese Creek
 
Date/Time: Sunday, July 10, 8am - noon
 
Location: Battle Acre Park - 3115 South Northpoint Rd., Dundalk

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed! This cleanup is run as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including:
  • Digging out shopping carts and hauling trash to the dumpsters.
  • Running water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek.
  • Assisting with registration, food and snacks set-up, as well as many other less strenuous activities.
Volunteers will be provided with snacks and water as well as gloves and trash bags. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but please bring your own if you have them.
 
Ages: Families with children all ages are welcome to volunteer.
 
Time Commitment: Stay for as long or as little as you'd like.

Yoga to Save the Bay
Blue Water Baltimore
 
Date/Time: Saturday, July 16, 9 - 10am
 
Location: On the Pier next to Barcocina in Fells Point - 1629 Thames St., Baltimore. There is free-metered parking until 10am.

Beginning in spring and running through early fall you can donate money to take a yoga class with Yoga to Save the Bay, and all the proceeds benefit Blue Water Baltimore and our mission to restore local waterways. So bring your water bottle and yoga mats and let's help make a difference in the growing movement for clean water! Classes will be held in Fells Point on the Pier next to Barcocina. Harvest Helpers Volunteer Event at First Fruits Farm

Adopt a Local Student

Provide a Baltimore City student with a uniform, shoes, and school supplies to return to school in the fall prepared for learning.

Volunteer Baker
Moveable Feast
 
Date/Time: Dessert drop-off is Monday through Friday, 9am - 4pm
 
Location: 901 N. Milton Ave., Baltimore. Main entrance is at the corner of Milton Ave. and Eager St.

Moveable Feast provides nutritious foods and other services in order to preserve the quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening conditions. Volunteers are needed to bake desserts at home and drop them off at Moveable Feast so that we may distribute them to our clients. All desserts must be individually portioned and packaged with a full list of ingredients attached.
