Congratulations to our very own Executive Director and CEO, Joe Meyer, for WINNING the
Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce
Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award as an EMERGING INFLUENTIAL LEADER OF THE YEAR. Thank you to

| Volunteer Appreciation Reception Recap |
Our Volunteer Appreciation Reception was held on June 22nd to recognize and honor the strong supportive volunteer efforts that happen throughout the year at Shelter House. This event is to show how much we truly appreciate all the help and support from each and every volunteer.
We know we can't be successful without the help from our community. We, once again, want to say THANK YOU to everyone for all you do to make a difference in the lives of so many.

A Message from Shelter House's Executive Director and CEO
|
Shelter House is moving onward and upward thanks to our tremendous leadership. Jamie Ergas, formerly Director of Operations, has been promoted and will now be Shelter House's Chief Operating Officer. Jamie's
oversight of the organization's ongoing operations and procedures in areas of service delivery, program development, grant management, quality assurance, tracking and assessing agency-wide statistics, and volunteer programs earned her great recognition for this title. In addition, Jolie Smith, formerly Director of Development has been promoted and will now be Shelter House's Chief Development Officer. Jolie's countless hours and energy focused on developing strong partnerships has greatly increased the volunteerism within all of our programs. She has created a high visibility for Shelter House that has rallied our community to get involved with our mission.
Her focus has also given us the financial boost that has enabled us to grow and create NEW programs.
Please join me in congratulating both of these fantastic leaders.

| Thank You HITT Contracting! |
A big THANK YOU to the bright and wonderful interns from
HITT Contracting Inc.
who participated in an "Interns' Day of Service." This group of 30 spent the day cleaning, painting, spackling, and organizing four full apartments at our Patrick Henry Family Shelter. They also worked to brighten to outside by power washing and cleaning up the yard and playground. We love this new partnership with HITT and are excited to work together on many projects in the future!
