Bike & Build a Success!
29 Bikers, Multiple Days of Building, Over 4,000 Miles, a Lifetime of Memories

From demolishing a chimney, insulating the attic, scrapping a ton of metal, removing old tile, and much more, 29 bikers from the Bike & Build organization came to our house renovation in Austintown which will be ready by Thanksgiving due in no small part to these generous bikers.

By talking to some of these extraordinary young men and women you will learn that they come from all places such as Michigan, New York, Illinois, and many other places. They all have different backgrounds, different jobs, different college majors, but there is one thing you can find in all of them, the desire to do good in the world. All of these bikers have a passion to help others, but it doesn't hurt that they get to see the country while doing it. We were more than happy to host these amazing people and showed our gratitude for their helping by giving them some good ol' Youngstown hospitality and they even got to catch game 7 of the NBA Finals!

Want to check on their progress or find out more information on Bike & Build for yourself? Check out their site at https://bikeandbuild.org/

Bike & Builders spent the build day cleaning siding, demolishing a chimney, and making wonderful memories with each other, the homeowner, and HFHMV staff!
It was a terrific experience for all involved. The following day they biked to Canton, OH to continue their journey to Seattle.

Each team travels with a trailer that's personalized (see pic), the different designs really make each one unique.

Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors Donates Nearly $14,000
Reverse Raffle & Fundraiser Dinner Benefits Habitat

The Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors donated nearly $14,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley.

The money was raised through a reverse raffle and dinner fundraiser. It was donated during a check presentation at the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors' office. It will be used to build a future home planned in 2017 in Boardman.

John Burgan, of Burgan Real Estate, has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for more than a decade. He is a volunteer on the site selection committee and is the former president of the organization's Board of Directors. "We as realtors owe a responsibility to our community and there is no better way to make a contribution than to build a home for a worthy Valley family." Burgan said.

Without donations from groups like YCAR, we wouldn't be able to provide affordable housing for low-income families. These donations allow us to give families the chance to have a place of their own from which to expand into a comfortable form of living.
