2016 U18 BC Blue Team
Team BC wins Gold & Silver at U16 Nationals
The 2016 U16 National Championships were held from July 20th-24th in Calgary, AB. Congratulations to the Boys BC Blue team for winning the Gold medal! The team won every game except for a draw against Alberta in pool play, but they were able to defeat Alberta in the Gold Medal game, when it mattered most. The Girls BC Blue team won Silver after a very close 1-0 loss to an experienced Ontario Red team in the Final. It was a good tournament for a relatively young team. They didn't quite get the outcome they wanted, but they finished the tournament strong. The Girls BC Yellow team finished the tournament in 5th place, and the Girls BC White team finished in 6th place. Both teams entered the consolation pool in the tournament, after losing in the Quarter-Finals. Both games were very close, with the BC White team going all the way to a Shootout but unfortunately came short.

Also, congratulations to the 6 BC Athletes named to the Tournament XI teams. From Boys BC Blue, Manveer Jhamat and Harvir Malhi. From Girls BC Blue, Jenna Buglioni and Aerin Park. From BC White, Sarah Lilley and from BC Yellow, Jasleen Hehar.

We are proud of all of our Train to Train athletes, many of whom were in the Provincial Program for the first time. We hope to see them back in the Regional and Provincial Program next season!

Canadian Women return from USA Tour

The Canadian Women's National Team have just returned home from a brief tour to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Canada played against two Olympic-bound teams - India and USA. Canada lost 5-2 and 3-1 to India, but in the first game they were tied with the 13th-ranked team until late in the game. Canada also lost 5-0 to a world-class American team. Canada has been travelling and playing a lot of field hockey in the last 18 months, and this tour provides them with yet another opportunity to grow, learn and develop. Next up for Canada is World League Round 2 in the Spring.
