July 24: College for Kids Junior Police Academy at LCHEC from 1-4pm. Find out what our men and women in blue do all day. Students will be introduced to the duties and responsibilities of today's law enforcement officers. Included, is a trip to the historic county jail at the museum and a Junior Police Officers Academy t-shirt. Ages: 8-13 years old. Cost is $20. Contact 512-556-8226.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to [email protected] . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

Reminder from Lampasas Public Utilities: Sewer bills are based on the average water usage from December, January, and February. Please remember to notify LPU if you have any leaks during that time.

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed there on that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
