2017 Community Events offer discounted tickets and a donation to Douglas County Schools!
In the 2016-17 school year, $8500 was distributed directly to schools for their participation in our Community Events. Additional funds went to provide support to our students, teachers and classrooms. If you're looking for affordable family fun and want to raise some money for your school, participate in one of the many Community Events brought to you by the FDCS !

Sports Authority at Mile High

The 2017 Rocky Mountain Showdown will be the 17th edition of the rivalry to be played in Denver since it shifted to the Mile High City as its primary home in 1998. The CSU Rams and Buffaloes have played 88 times in the series. A portion from each ticket sold will be donated back to Douglas County Schools. Promo code 2017FOUNDATION.

In appreciation of DCSD's support this season and to kick off the new school year, the Colorado Rockies invite our community back out to Coors Field! A portion of each ticket sold will be donated back to Douglas County Schools. Take advantage of this great opportunity to enjoy a game at Coors Field while supporting your local community. We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark!

The Snowy Day
- Tickets $15  Inspired by Ezra Jack Keats' acclaimed children's books - including the 1963 Caldecott Medal winner The Snowy Day - follow the adventures of young Peter as he explores the world around him. From the joys of a first snowfall and learning how to whistle to thrilling encounters delivering a precious invitation, the delightful moments of childhood are perfectly captured in this medley of simple, sweet stories. The production kicks off the new Theatre for Young Audiences program, which focuses on performances especially tailored for youth audiences. Bring your little ones to their first theatre experience and relive the moments of your childhood through their eyes.      
 
A Christmas Carol - Tickets $15  Essential to the holiday season in Denver, this show promises to "warm your heart and renew your holiday spirit" according to the Examiner. Based on Charles Dickens' classic novel, this joyous and opulent musical adaptation traces money-hoarding skinflint Ebenezer Scrooge's triumphant overnight journey to redemption. A Christmas Carol illuminates the meaning of the holiday season in a way that has resonated for generations.
 
ELF The Musical - Tickets $30/$45  The hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner Elf.

Fall Back to School Chapter Meeting
Tuesday, August 29 
This meeting is intended for your whole board and covers a variety of topics. The program will again include a vendor fair offering a variety of fundraising options for your Chapter. You will also have a chance to tour the Castle before the program starts! Contact Alyson Plummer for more information.

FDCS Fundraising Partners!

Our Back to School Chapter Meeting (see above) will have a limited number of openings for FDCS vendors and fundraising partners* to set up a table at no cost. This event will provide you the opportunity to speak personally to 80-90 PTO and booster club officers about the products and/or the services you offer. If you are interested in participating in this event, please contact Stacey Briggs for more information. *All participants must have completed and submitted a FDCS Partnership Agreement, so all participating vendors are listed/linked on our website.

2017 Golf Classic
The Foundation for Douglas County Schools is once again partnering with the Highlands Ranch Chamber of Commerce in their 2017 Business Golf Classic to benefit the Lend-A-Hand School Supply Drive.   
 
This year's golf outing takes place at the scenic Arrowhead Golf Course in Littleton on Monday, July 31 beginning at 8:00 a.m. For more information about becoming a sponsor or registering to play click here.
