Shabbat Shalom!

On this last week of June, I give sincere thanks to the many June blessings of weddings, b'nai mitzvah and baby namings. I am grateful. Here comes July.

In June, Synagogue without Walls was further blessed with:

I'm so very proud of my
 b'nai mitzvah students!!!

I'm so very proud I am of my awesome b'nai mitzvah students. Their hearts and souls are tremendous as they are making a difference in our community. The most important part about becoming a bar or bat mitzvah (son or daughter of the Commandments) is making your the world a better place because of your mitzvot. My tremendous students are certainly making our world a better place. I wanted to share just some of the blessings that my current students are giving us. The following is just a very partial list of some current charities, organizations and causes that these young men and women are helping:

- Helping children learn to read

- Winter clothing drive

- Toy collection for CHOP

- Book drive for Camden elementary school library

- Volunteering in local library

- Collecting gently used sports equipment for the needy

- Volunteering at local animal shelter

- Volunteering at animal refuge

- Soup kitchen

- MS Society

- Local Yellow Ribbon

- Pencils of Promise

If you're interested in helping or learning further about any of these mitzvah projects of my current students, please contact me.

B'shalom, Scott

CLERGY ON DUTY at SHORT HILLS DELI: Beginning TUESDAY, AUGUST 1 from 8:00-11:00 I will be "setting up shop" on Tuesday mornings at a quiet, corner table to speak with anyone who wants to simply have some breakfast or coffee with me. If you're in need of spiritual guidance, need some prayers, want to learn about anything involving Judaism, you'll be more than welcome to sit and talk. It will be a blessing for both of us.
