Words from the Executive Director
INTENTIONAL LEADERSHIP

The late Avery Willis, former Vice President of the International Mission Board (IMB),  Master Life developer and reproducing disciple maker helped make MAWL a standard missionary practice. It has been modified and multiplied many times over. MAWL is a leadership pipeline, incubator or process to develop capable leaders for any task.  But the greatest task on the planet is given by the greatest One to ever walk on the planet-- Jesus.  He said, "as you go make disciples."

M :   Model--I do, you watch, we talk.
A:    Assist--you do, I help, we talk.
W:   Watch--you do, I watch, we talk.
L:     Leave--you do, I duplicate, we multiply as team.

In both the church planting and church revitalization training, my friends and I have used L-- to mean Launch. Launch new groups or new leaders or new churches.

Intentional leadership begins with internals. One leadership teacher says, "you reproduce what you are, not what you want to be."  One of the hardest people to lead looks at you in the mirror each morning. Intentional leadership begins from within. Thankfully we as Christians have God's promised helper, the Holy Spirit, helping us become more than we can ask, think or imagine.  Personally, I thank God for the opportunities all around us. God is up to something!  I want to be part of it!  How about you?

Recently, Noonday Builders for Christ leadership team met to get a building update from the local leaders of our summer project; a safe house for women rescued from human trafficking. A month earlier revealed  there was much work needed to be done before receiving inspections required for us to Sheetrock and install exterior siding. The meeting hit a low point when the progress report was given. Everything looked like our trip would have to be postponed. We paused-- we prayed!  I praise the Lord for how He answers prayers and proves faithful. We can testify about His goodness and saw Him at work in a week get months of things done. The night I called the pause and pray, I modeled the conviction that God is in charge!  That night is a fading memory, but as you and I face today-- remember to pause and pray.  He is able to help and cares deeply for you and will use all things to make you and me like Jesus!

Remember what you are speaks so loud that people have a hard time hearing what you are saying. In other words, intentional leadership begins with you!  John 21:22 ends with Jesus saying basically don't worry about the other guy  "you follow me."  As we celebrate our country's birthday and enjoy true freedom in Christ. Let's be sure our intentional leaderships is based solidly on intentionally following Jesus!

Storehouse Ministries

Our Kids Helping Kids  food drive is off to a great start! What a great effort on the part of our kids to help others in the community! Our appreciation goes to Burnt Hickory Baptist, Macland Baptist, Roswell Street Baptist, Second Baptist Smyrna and Sewell Mill Baptist for the tremendous amount of food donated! Storehouse looks forward to having other churches participate as Vacation Bible Schools continue.

Do you have extra time on your hands? Do you need a service project to do a few hours a week?  This ministry is only possible with the volunteer support of our churches and church members. Storehouse needs volunteers to assist with phone intake as well as packing and sorting food.  There are jobs for all ages. Please contact Storehouse Ministries at (770) 428-8410 for more details on times.

If you have extra fresh produce to give away, several of our food distribution churches would love to have fresh produce to give along with the food box.

During the summer months we are helping many more families due to school being out. Your donation of food or money will help us to continue to expand our efforts in the community!
