Finding space

Many of us spend our time during the depth of summer working on projects, taking time away, and allowing ourselves a little more freedom to stop and breathe. Here at the Transfiguration Spirituality Center, the same holds true. The number of guests has been robust since the beginning of the year, and now that we have a little breathing space, we hope to offer a little extra TLC to our buildings. Many of our staff will be rotating through vacation times throughout the summer. And we are all appreciative of the chance to celebrate the goodness of creation in this little corner of the universe.

We hope you have that opportunity to get away this season; and if you only have a few hours, please consider taking a little rest time in our gazebo or on one of our park benches. Our grounds are available for a mini sabbath as well as overnight retreats.

If you would like to visit for a few hours or a day contact ctretreats@gmail.com to set aside some time for yourself.

For the past 6 months we have introduced our staff, and this month we introduce someone who is familiar to many of you.

Faith Lang  has been part of the life of the Community of the Transfiguration for 9 years. She came initially as the supervisor of housekeeping for the Sisters, and when the Spirituality Center was opened, she became the Guest Services Coordinator. Faith is our resident photographer and makes the door cards and room cards many of our guests receive. She was inspired to offer a retreat for clergy a few years ago, and now the Rest and Rekindle Retreat for Women Clergy in the fall is part of our regular events. Meditation books of Faith's photography are available through the Spirituality Center office.

REST & REKINDLE
Retreat for Women Clergy

Finding a time and place to let the sacred and the creative engage us can be challenging. Women taking time to write, pray, sew, and be together find their way to TSC through individual and group retreats. Their prayers, joy, enthusiasm, and presence remind us it is important to embrace the sacred and creative impulses together. As you find that bit of breathing space this summer, may you embrace creativity, joy, and love and in so doing experience the gift of the Sacred.
