MAKING AN IMPACT...
The Marshfield Family Resource Center is a place where you can learn how to be the best possible parent. The center provides a nurturing environment in which parents can connect with resources, access programs, talk with staff one-on-one and enjoy family activities with their children at no cost. This story demonstrates the direness of a family's situation and how the many resources of United Way were able to provide support and serve this family.

At the end of a Play and Learn, the secretary at Good Shepard Church brought a women, Katelyn, to me and asked if I could help her.  We sat down and she told me her story. There was an imminent safety issue at home which forced her and her two young children to leave in the family car with only the clothes they were wearing.  The family had found a place to stay, but had no means to acquire the other essentials for daily living.  Between myself and United Way's 211, we connected her with Ruby's Pantry, Soup and Socks, Judicare, medical drivers (one of the children had numerous critical medical appointments), NOW, the school lunch programs, as well as some Goodwill Vouchers. Katelyn was extremely thankful for the services and support that bridged this gap until they were able to get back on their feet.
