SUPERIOR STREET BRICKS
Interesting changes in the bricks along Albion's Historic Superior Street. From left to right - the first brick is from the 1940s, next is the repaving project from the 1990s and the last brick is what is being installed with the current project.

The repaving is estimated to last a several decades with a new base composed of 10" of sand; 6" of aggregate base, 8" of concrete, 1" of sand and 2-3/4" bricks.

Will this affect my assessment?

Since the assessed value is dependent on market value, the assessed
value will change depending on current market conditions. Also, if there
are changes to your property that have not been recorded in the City Assessor's records, the update may affect the City's calculation of true cash value.

New additions that cause the value of the property to increase may increase an assessed value. Demolitions that cause value to decline may decrease the assessed value. These changes will be reflected in your notice of assessment
change to be mailed in January.

Even if there are no physical changes to your property, your assessment may change based on what is happening in the current real estate market.
