Announcements

Summer Worship: Welcome Kids and Students!

We're blessed to have a church that makes disciples in all ages and stages of life. During the summer, we get to worship all together for the first portion of the service and sing music that reflects the diversity of our congregation. Please join us in welcoming kids and students into the worship service, knowing that singing their songs reminds us that

no matter what age, we are God's children through faith in Jesus Christ.

If You Will be Away This Summer and Would Like to Receive an Electronic Copy of the Bulletin....

Please contact the office. For privacy reasons we do not publish the weekly prayer concerns in TCC's email newsletter (the email newsletter is posted on our website) so if you want to keep up to date with fellow congregants, we would be happy to email the bulletin to you!

Lost and Found - Everything Left in the Church Coat Closets will be Donated on July 31.

Our coat closets and Lost and Found box are overflowing once again!  There are jackets, toys, a baby swing, as well as glasses, books, and more in these closets. We are currently doing our summer cleaning. Please help us get organized before Fall by taking a few minutes to go through what's there, and claim your belongings. All unclaimed items left in the church closets will be donated on Friday, July 31. Thank you!

Are you Missing a Dish, Tupperware Container or Pan that you Brought to Church?

On the kitchen rack next to the refrigerator, there are many unclaimed kitchen items. Please stop by, and see if your items are among them. Anything remaining after July 31 will be donated.

The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation (TSF)

The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation (TSF) is dedicated to providing school supplies, shoes, clothing, and scholarships for needy children in Liberia, an African country that has been devastated by a civil war and an Ebola outbreak. Supplies are personally distributed by Teddy and delivered with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. In 2015, he plans to return with barrels loaded with donated supplies and sporting goods recently received as a major contribution from Boston based New Balance. Financial contributions help pay for shipping costs, airfare, and scholarship aid to young students who would not be able to attend school without it. The Foundation is the humanitarian and evangelical outreach of Liberian native Teddy Sayonkon, partnering with Trinitarian and generous individuals.

If you wish to support Teddy's work with a monetary contribution, please make checks out directly to "The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation". (Donations are not deductible for IRS reporting purposes at this time.) For more information, please contact Teddy directly at 978-761-5239 or [email protected].

English as a Second Language (ESL), 3 Day Workshop - Aug 6th-8th, 2015
Baptist Convention of New England (BCNE) is sponsoring the 12-hour certification course for potential ESL ministry leaders. Churches all over New England, no matter the language(s) they may speak, realize that in order to reach their community with the gospel it often means building bridges to other language groups residing in their towns or cities. One of the best ways to build those bridges is through literacy or English as a Second Language groups.

What this 3 Day Workshop Can Do for Your Church:
  • Learn how your church can better identify and reach Internationals in your community
  • Begin to see ESL as a tool for growing your church while sharing Christ
  • Learn how to start, develop and sustain an ESL group
  • Network with others doing or running ESL programs

You are invited to attend a three-day workshop (August 6-8, Thursday evening 6:30-9:30P; Friday evening 6 :30- 9:30P and Saturday 9A- 3P) to be held at Christ Baptist Church, 7 Granby Rd., Worcester, MA which will go into detail about leading ESL groups. Please don't miss this opportunity!

Registration is required. Event registration, location and information can be found  by clicking on  bcne.net/eslworkshop

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Summer Worship: Get Involved & Get Connected!

Summer is a great time to try out serving on a new ministry team. Consider how you can use your gifts to bless the congregation on Sunday morning. This summer we are training new sound/screen techs, scripture readers, musicians/singers. A great way to connect with others in the community! Email [email protected] for more info.

Additional Ushers Still Needed...

Our mission:  To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed: Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help 1 Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...

Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!

If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others after Sunday service, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour! Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members. If no one signs up, there are no refreshments or fresh cream!  Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact the church office.

The TCC Food Pantry (Loaves & Fishes) offers assistance to those of TCC and the surrounding community who need help providing for themselves and their family. If you are in need, please feel free to visit the church office for assistance from the food pantry. The food pantry is open on Sunday mornings or during regular church office hours.

We gratefully accept donations to the TCC "Loaves & Fishes" Food Pantry. Please find the collection bin on a table near the lobby stairwell. We only accept donations of non-perishable food and personal items.

WE RESPECTFULLY ASK YOU NOT TO DONATE ANY OPEN OR EXPIRED ITEMS - WE JUST HAVE TO THROW THEM AWAY!

TOP ITEMS NEEDED:

Windex

Paper Towels

Toothbrushes

Shaving Cream

Peanut Butter

Tuna

Ketchup / Mayo

Cake Mixes and Frostings Sets

If you have any questions regarding donations, contact Diane or David Newcomb at [email protected] or [email protected]
