That issue will mark four years since we resumed publication. The special issue will include TPN history, a surprise guest columnist, coverage of the birthday bash, Top 30 compilation of favorite songs, bands, and dance halls, and special ads from our birthday party sponsors.

Thanks to Chris and Edita Rybak for giving 28 members of their European April tour a 1-year subscription to Texas Polka News. This is the second time the Rybaks have signed up their tour members to receive TPN. "We want to do our part in helping the Polka News reach its goal of increased subscriptions," Chris said. "Everyone should take the Texas Polka News." Couldn't agree more, Chris, and thank you and Edita for your generosity!

WEEKLY LAUGH
A young man entered a monastery. He took a vow of silence, but once a year he was allowed to write one word on a chalkboard in front of the head monk.

The first year of silence was difficult, but on Word Day he wrote "the" on the chalkboard. The second year was also difficult - it was a struggle to remain silent - but finally Word Day rolled around, and the monk wrote "food" on the chalkboard.

The third year was excruciating. But he made it through, and when Word Day came again he wrote down the word "stinks."

"What's with you?" the head monk asked. "You've been here for three years and all you do is complain."
