JULY 2017
We Give Thanks for the Life of Henry "Ed" Everding, Jr. Here
On June 29, 2017, Rev. Dr. Ed Everding, philanthropist, retired faculty member and Dean of the Faculty, died after giving so much to the Iliff community and the world. We give thanks for his life and work alongside his wife, Lee. They have been faithful advocates for Iliff as trustees, generous benefactors, and active participants in public events. President Wolfe said, "Iliff grew in academic stature and influence during Ed's long career on the faculty."

Alumni Spotlight: Alum and Student Serving Together
Jasmine Tesdahl, (M.Div '13), Chaplain, 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve (shown on the right in the picture), reported in on an important intensive internship program taking place this summer. Iliff Student, 2nd Lieutenant Chaplain Candidate Candise Woods was a participant in the 5-week intensive internship where she learned about the Air Force Chaplain Corps and the role of a chaplain in the pluralistic military environment.  She and her classmates from a variety of faith traditions and backgrounds traveled to multiple bases via Military Air, and learned about the many missions of the Air Force. Most importantly, Chaplain Candidates learned, experienced, and reflected on the role of the chaplain in the midst of the military mission, in order to help them discern their calls to a vocation of chaplaincy. Tesdahl was part of the leadership team for the tour.

#WhyIliffiansGive

"I am called to [give]. I'm grateful for my Iliff experience. Jesus didn't sit around and wait. He preached love, acceptance and diversity. There is so much pain and suffering in this world. Jesus said [that] we would do other things, perhaps, even greater than him. We are chipping away at racism and white privilege to implement a just and fair world. It's a joy. It's about carrying through that imperative that Jesus enlivened."

- Jon Wallace (MDiv, '12)

One of the Best Ways You Can Give is to Pub Iliff!

Pub(licize) Iliff and send us more students like you! Our alumni continue to do great things in the world but you were students first. We love Iliff students as much as you. You can always send them to us by talking about your Iliff experience.

Thank you for reading the Alumni ENews and for being an integral part of the Iliff Community. We appreciate all of the many ways you give!
