July 2017
Dear Concordia Alumna/us,

Happy New Year!  July 1st officially begins our new academic year and another opportunity to develop new and returning students for service to Christ in the Church and the world.  This year's academic theme, always chosen by representatives of the student body, is "All Things New" based on Revelation 21:5.  Look for the full verse at the bottom of every newsletter and every email signature line from me.  We display it on a banner in the chapel and talk about in devotions, chapel, classrooms, mission trips, athletic events and all places where we use God's word to proclaim our faith.  He is able to make all things new!

In His Service,

Laura

Alumni Homecoming and Service Day ~ Packed full of fun!

The Decade Challenge is on for 2017!  Start calling your classmates and get yourself "repped"--last year's winner was the Decade of 2010 with a distant second pulled off by the Decade of 1980.  You are invited for a free pre-game lunch under the tent at 11:30 a.m., free admission and a reserved alumni section at the 1:00 p.m. game.  We'll have giveaways and drawings and a 20% discount on spirit items at the EGG.  We're working on an afterglow at a local restaurant--stay tuned!

As long as you are here , let's find a way to give back to the Ann Arbor community.  The Homecoming Planning Committee is looking for a second opportunity for an Alumni Service Day on the morning of Homecoming.  Watch for more details and be ready to roll up your sleeves!

Watch the alumni website for more details.

Christmas Planning in July

A Manor Christmas
, a celebration of Christ as the center of Christmas, hosted by the Concordia Guild and the University, will be held December 1-3, 2017, and will include three very special events: Earhart Manor tours; an outdoor, European-style Christkindlmarket, and the 40th annual Boar's Head Festival.  You are invited to decorate a room, be a vendor at the market, share your musical talents, join a committee, volunteer, spread the word and financially support this outreach event. Contact the Guild by email or by calling 734-995-7509.  Follow the website for more information.

Wisconsin area alumni:   Would you like to board a bus bound for Ann Arbor and Frankenmuth to enjoy the Boar's Head Festival and German gemutlichkeit at Bronner's and Bavarian Inn?  For more information, please visit the website.
