Attend this FREE informative session that will answer questions on registering your campaign, crafting your campaign message, where you should be seen to meet the voters, the use of social media, or any other questions you may have to prepare you to run for the November 7th election.



The Georgia House Rural Development Council was created to identify policies and ideas to enhance economic opportunity across the entire state, particularly in rural areas.   Join us as we listen to the Council on several important topics such as education and workforce development. 

The Council held meetings in Thomasville, Bainbridge, and Toccoa. Prior to arriving in Dalton, the Council will be in Ellijay and then they will conduct meetings in Metter, Darien, Metter, Albany, Warm Springs, Manchester area and Milledgeville.

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, August 28th. The winner will be announced at the Chamber's Banquet in October.



Nominees must: 
1. Be a member of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce
2. Be associated with a for-profit company that employs 50 or fewer 
full-time employees 
3. Be an individual who owns and operates or who bears principal responsibility for operating a small business

Each year, at the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet, a local business member is honored as the
Small Business Person of the Year. This award is made in recognition of the outstanding contributions by an entrepreneur in our community.

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, August 28, and the winner will be awarded at the Annual Banquet later this year! The nomination form can be accessed here or online at:   www.daltonchamber.org

Last year's recipient of this award was Raymond Butler, Master Distiller with the Dalton Distillery, LLC. The
Small Business Person of the Year Award 
recognizes a business leader who owns and operates a for-profit company that employs 50 or fewer full-time employees, bears principal responsibility for operations, who has experienced recent business growth, and who is involved in the development and growth of the Greater Dalton community. Previous nominees may be nominated again this year.
