An ARM Update
July 2013

Dear friends,

I know that many of you have heard of our Mwangaza Children's Choir!  Over the years we have sent out many children from Uganda to minister to those in the United States and Holland.  This year is no different, with our 8th choir just returning from the states last week, and our 9th preparing to head to Holland in September!

These choirs are a vital part of our ministry and teach our children leadership, evangelism, ministry and much more!  We are excited to have our children back with us and wanted to give you a brief update from the choir tour!

Be blessed,

Pastor Peter

Mwangaza Stories & Updates  stmTRIPS
From Choir Member to Choir Leader

Meet Freedom (far right).
Freedom traveled as a child member of the 2004 & 2008 choir tours, but returned this year as the choir director.

We asked Freedom what it was like to travel as a choir leader rather than a member and this is what he said, "It was very different being an adult leader and not a child on tour. Traveling as a leader required me to have more responsibility, patience and effort.  I learned what it was like to be a parent of 20 children and to make sure that they were safe and well cared for.

It also taught me that when God calls you to ministry, he just wants you.  It was freeing knowing that I could just be me, and He would provide me with everything else I would need to answer His call! I do believe that this year's choir was a success, not just for the numbers or statistics but, because it changed my life and has taught me many things about being the leader God wants me to be."

Meet Lanese, Our new Choir Coordinator!

"My name is Lanese Bush and I am so excited to be a part of Africa Renewal Ministries!

I first learned about ARM in December 2008 when Pastor Peter visited my church in Houston, TX.  After he spoke I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to sponsor a child.  In July 2009, I had my first opportunity to visit Uganda and meet my child, Fiona, and her family.  I immediately fell in love with this beautiful country! I have had two more opportunities to visit Uganda and co-lead short term teams since then.

When I heard about the opportunity to join ARM as the Choir Coordinator, I felt like the Lord had prepared me for the opportunity.  I feel blessed to be able to use the skills He has developed in me, and the gifts He's given me, to manage the choir bookings and travel logistics for the USA Choir Tours.  I love this ministry and everything it is doing to raise Christian leaders and transform Uganda."
Holland Choir Tour:
Coming September

The Break Free Holland Tour starts this September!

The 9-week trip will tour throughout 6 provinces of Holland & Germany before returning to Uganda.  The trip will unveil 11 new songs on the new Break Free CD.
The 20 children and 4 adults traveling with this tour are from ARM's Rakai projects and are focused on:
  • Raising 100 new sponsors for needy children in Kasaka
  • Building a dormitory for kids in Kakuuto
  • And most importantly, showing the love of Christ with the Dutch people.

Please pray for...

  • God's Will to be done
  • Pray for strength, wisdom, & endurance for the children and volunteers traveling.
