A Note from the Mayor
July is here and hot weather has arrived with temperatures climbing over 100 degrees! Just remember, the heat won't last too long, and school will be starting back in a little over a month.
Baseball and softball games are winding down as most State Tournaments have been completed. Congratulations to the Maumelle teams that were crowned Champions and Runners-up in the finals!
The big event coming up in July is the "Maumelle Fourth Fest Celebration," which will begin at 5:00 pm on July 4th with a parade. The parade will start on Millwood Drive turning onto Club Manor and ending at Lake Willastein Park. Food vendors will be set up in the park starting at 5:00 pm with music starting at 8:00 pm. The annual Fireworks Show will be at 9:30 pm. Due to extremely dry conditions, a Burn Ban has been issued for all of Pulaski County. The ban also includes the discharge of any personal fireworks. Please make your plans to celebrate, but remember that private fireworks should not be a part of your celebration. Instead, please join the community for the Public Firework display at Lake Willastein. (Anyone ignoring the Burn Ban will be given a citation, as we want to keep everyone safe.) Don't forget to drink plenty of water if you are planning to be outside in the heat this summer. Carbonated beverages do very little to help prevent dehydration.
The Dowell Naylor Aquatic Center is the "coolest" place to spend your afternoons during the month of July. There will also be two nights of "Movies in the Gym" in July.
Please check the dates for the City Council meetings each month, as well as the Planning Commission and other public meetings. One of the best ways to stay involved in the community is to attend these meetings and to let your voice be heard.
Have a great summer and please stay safe!

MWM is requesting that even numbered addresses water their lawns only on even numbered days of the month, and odd numbered addresses water their lawns only on odd numbered days of the month. |
