JULY NEWS
July / 2 / 2018
Dear Forest Hills Family and Friends,

Happy 4th of July! Hopefully you are all enjoying a quiet work week, with a holiday to look forward to. I know that here at Forest Hills we have lots of great programs and activities coming up to celebrate Independence Day and the dog days of summer.

Be sure to browse this newsletter for highlights of our programs and for the full Life Enrichment July 2018 calendar.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made this year's Annual Golf Tournament such a resounding success. On such a hot day, we still had a record 83 golfers turn up for some friendly competition on the links. Not to mention more than 20 sponsors for the event, which helped us to raise more than $62,000! All contributions are used in a variety of ways to directly enrich the quality of life for Forest Hills and Forest Side residents. Our organization allocates donations into several accounts including our Charitable Trust Fund. Read on in this newsletter for more highlights from the tournament.

Thank you to all of the family and friends we get to see visiting us at Forest Hills. Hope to see you around!

Sending my warm regards,

Musings: Marianna Blagburn,
Forest Side Program Director

Thankfully, the seasons change, a signal that we too, must find a new rhythm. July can be the perfect time to take a break and pay attention to something else. Caregiver stress includes worry and guilt. We have inner standards to meet about the shoulds. How often should I visit? Should I take her to lunch? Should we have kept him at home? Consider a short trip and complete immersion in something you know will boost your well-being. While you are away, your loved one will have 24 hour support, enjoy good meals, smile and laugh, and will not be alone.

26th Annual Golf Tournament
Another Successful Fundraising Year

It is with immense gratitude that we reflect on our 26th Annual Golf Tournament, held two weeks ago on June 18, 2018. One of the hottest days on record and yet we welcomed 83 golfers at the Norbeck Country Club for a round of spirited competition.

Our 20 sponsors included companies and organizations large and small, not to mention individuals who rallied together to raise funds for Forest Hills' only major fundraiser. In total, these contributions helped us to raise over $62,000, which will be used in a variety of ways to directly enrich the quality of life for Forest Hills and Forest Side residents. Our organization allocates donations into several accounts including our Charitable Trust Fund..

This year's event featured guest speaker Joe Krebs, Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, who shared personal and inspiring stories with the crowd.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, golfers, and community who came together to make this year our most successful yet!
