DrKMinnesota Oncology Welcomes New Physician

Please join us in welcoming medical oncologist and hematologist Samith Kochuparambil, MD,  to our Minneapolis clinic beginning July 2015.

Dr. Kochuparambil received his medical degree from the Madras Medical College, Chennai, India. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and a fellowship in Medical Oncology & Hematology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. His areas of special interest are genitourinary cancers
including bladder, kidney and prostate cancers as well as multiple myeloma.
 

"A diagnosis of cancer can be overwhelming for patients and their families, often signaling the beginning of a physical, emotional and spiritual journey," Dr. Kochuparambil said. "My goal is to empower my patients with accurate information, positive thinking and to provide state of the art care to help them through their journey with cancer. I strive to provide the most up-to-date treatments that incorporate breakthroughs in cancer therapies and access to latest clinical trials."

MetroUrologyMinnesota Oncology and Metro Urology Create Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic

Metro Urology and Minnesota Oncology last month launched a new partnership to provide a Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic for their patients. The Clinic provides coordinated care for patients who have been diagnosed with urologic cancers such as bladder cancer, prostate cancer, or kidney cancer. Learn more.

In December, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Gardasil 9 (Human Papillomavirus 9-valent Vaccine, Recombinant) for the prevention of certain diseases caused by nine types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Dr. Cheryl Bailey, gynecologic oncologist at our Minneapolis clinic, spoke with Fox 9 about the new vaccine last month:
