Happy July Everyone,
I trust you all are having a wonderful July - a very big month here in the USA as we celebrated our Independence day on the 4th. So sit back and read all about the increasing list of amazing netball events and opportunities Netball America is making available to all members, partners and supporters, both here in the USA and the rest of the world.
Your USA University Netball long squad has been training hard all year, and the work paid off by them finishing with the silver medal at a tournament in NYC this past weekend. Congrats to all players and team management, who had the pleasure of enjoying an evening with
Tennis Legend Kim Clijsters on a cruise around New York Harbor last week.

2015 Callidus Cloud U.S. Open Netball America Championships - Dallas, Texas
is nearly sold out!
What a championship it's set to be, with current NZ Silver Fern Assistant Coach and Former Australian Player - Vicki Wilson set to conduct coaching clinics for players and coaches on Friday November 6th at the launch of the U.S. Open.
Cost is included as part of your event registration fee.

If you are between the ages of 16 and 27 and in the last year of high school, in college or just about to graduate from college, contact us to learn how you can try out for the squad.

Congrats to the USA University squad who put on a fantastic nail-biting final on the weekend in NYC and missing out on 1st place by only one point. It's a credit to Coach Ilze, Trainer Michael and the squad for all their hard training this year, as this was their first tournament together. The teams shooting stats in the semis and finals were 100%!

Meet USA University Netball Team Head Coach Ilze
Born and grew up in Stellenbosch, South Africa
Moved to NYC in 2011
In 2003-2004, Ilze received a full scholarship at the only netball institute in South Africa, Stellenbosch Netball Institute (SNI) under the direction of international coach, Sandra du Plessis. This scholarship was award by the New Zealand Government Fund (NZAID) for talented woman of color in South Africa, post apartheid. Ilze was with this program for 7yrs and was exposed to and mentored by some of the greatest coaches in the world.
While studying at the SNI, Ilze then went on to be the youngest player to represent her State/Province, Boland, at the Netball South Africa national competition in 2003 and went on to play in this multi-year national championship team from 2003-2011. Ilze's final year, saw her captain of the state team at nationals just before moving to NYC.
Ilze is passionate about development, leadership and opportunity for youth. She has devoted her life doing work with these passions and has traveled the world helping youth, sport teams and musicians to reach their greatest potential.
Ilze started her journey with Netball America in October 2011, the very month she moved to NY from South Africa. NA President, Sonya Ottaway was deeply impressed by her resume and went on to state that Ilze is the most highly qualified netball coach in the USA.
Ilze was invited to coach the first ever USA Netball Team of Americans who competed at the inaugural World University Netball Championship, held in Ilze's very own back yard in Cape Town, South Africa.
Although an incredibly challenging journey, Ilze was excited for the opportunity to use her expert knowledge & coaching skills of the sport she so passionately loves, to build and prepare this historic team.
"Netball America has really been such an incredible organization to work with as their team is full of passion, highly skilled professionals with great attitudes and drive to grow this sport in the USA", Ilze says.
