Dear ,
What an amazing month for Netball all across the USA. Did you catch our ESPN coverage here or the coverage from the highest authority for global university sports, International Univeristy Sports Federation here and the media coverage we received in South Africa. Be sure to stay tuned to our facebook as daily Netball updates are posted.
Congratulations to Team USA Netball - read below about the success they achieved in South Africa. Listen here on itunes to the Team USA Netball theme song 'River of Life' by Michael Johns. If you missed last months newsletter with the beautiful backstory to this song, you can read about it here. Watch the reactions from the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Acad emy for Girls as they hear and sing this beautiful song alongside our Team USA athletes.
It took a fantastic team to pull off this amazing trip in which we were able to fundraise and obtain sponsors so the athletes weren't out of pocket. So a big thank you to all who supported.
We've also been able to extend the early registration on Nationals so make sure you jump in quick as only a few spots left.
There are also some great member specials this month so read below. If you are an expat and in need of bank and loan services then don't miss what Advancial can offer you.
I ask everyone to keep in their prayers one of our members, Lola (Redballers Netball Club), who is in ICU on life support. We pray for strength for her family and will keep everyone updated on f/book.
Kind Regards

What an impact the first ever American Netball team made in the international community!! They certainly won the hearts of the crowd in South Africa and everyone commented they were the only team to consistently improve over the tournament and how they kept on fighting to the very end.

The athletes from Trinity College deserve a special mention - they were competing in the Sth African University Netball Games, however took time out to train with our athletes. Thanks also to the athletes mentors Vanessa Lingenveldt, Natasha Theron, Marlene Wagner & Toschca Ferreira.

SUMMER CAMPS AND GOGIRLGO!
Our first GoGirlGo! Program is nearly complete. A huge effort led by Crusaders ATL with significant help by Gems. Everyone is in for a treat on Thursday night this week when WNBA Atlanta Dream Player Aneika Henry (formerly from Jamaica) will stop in to see our the Netball program is going.
We also have Tropical Sports Club who have supported this initiative and the Netball Association of South Metro Atlanta, Inc. are working to support their own GoGirlGo! Program. Please contact us if you want to start this program in your area.
These participants alongside your Team USA Netball will be the first to receive the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award, which will be presented September 9th at the WNBA Atlanta Dream game.
Summer camps are also kicking off. We have 5 summer camps across New York running through July and August. With over 800 kids per camp, this is a great opportunity for us to introduce the youth of New York to Netball! |
