The Meredith Cowden Foundation will host its annual fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at the Fairlawn Country Club, located at
200 North Wheaton Rd.,
Akron, OH.

This wonderful six course event is $150 per person which includes valet parking. This year's guest speaker is Dr. Navneet Majhail, MS, MD, the Director of the Cleveland Clinic's Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.
This event raises funds to improve the quality of life of leukemia and lymphoma patients by funding the 2019 GVHD National Medical Symposium, which is dedicated to research, information, treatments and finding a cure for Graft Versus Host Disease .

If you have been diagnosed with a blood cancer, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) can help. We provide information, resources and support to those affected by a blood cancer. Check out these resources below. We are here to answer your questions and support you.

Speak One-on-One with a Specialist
Speaking one-on-one with an Information Specialist can assist you through cancer treatment, financial and social challenges and give accurate, up-to-date disease, treatment and support information. Our Information Specialists are master's level oncology social workers, nurses and health educators. Call 800-955-4572 (9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST, Monday to Friday) or send an email to: [email protected] .

Learn about Clinical Trials
Patients can work one-on-one with an LLS Clinical Trial Specialist who will personally assist them throughout the entire clinical-trial process. Clinical Trial Specialists are registered nurses with expertise in blood cancers. For more information about this program, please contact an LLS Information Specialist at (800) 955-4572, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST

Schedule a Nutrition Consult
Patients and caregivers may receive free one-on-one phone and email consultations with a registered dietitian with expertise in oncology nutrition. For more information, please visit www.LLS.org/nutrition or contact an Information Specialist at (800) 955-4572, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST.

Get Informed
Information in our booklets and fact sheets at  www.LLS.org/booklets is accurate and up-to-date. Learn about your diagnosis, treatment and survivorship issues. Also, take a few minutes to go through Each New Day , a booklet that may help in addressing your initial concerns, including questions to bring to your healthcare provider and specialists. All materials can be downloaded or ordered from our website and are free of charge.
 
Get Connected

Find Support Locally
Support groups are the perfect place to talk with other people affected by blood cancers, including patients, family members , and caregivers. The groups provide mutual support and offer the opportunity to discuss anxieties and concerns with others who share the same experiences. This sharing strengthens the family bond and enhances everyone's ability to cope with cancer. Learn more about the support group nearest you and other local services. Transplant Treatment Journey: Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Basics and Clinical Trials

This free webinar will describe the process of bone marrow/stem cell transplant, the steps in preparing for transplant, clinical trial options and coping skills. There will be multiple resources for additional help sure to help patients and caregivers navigate the entire journey. There will be plenty of time for questions as well.
