2nd entrance 2Granite Construction has completed construction on the secondary entrance to the ski area about a half-mile towards Incline of the Mt. Rose Main Lodge entrance. It is being put into place with the future goal of improving circulation to and from the resort. This is Phase 1 of a multi-phase project to improve circulation and will not be accessible for the coming season.

nick and kyle cuttingIn cooperation with the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF), Mt. Rose is continuing the forest management project to improve forest health by removing dead, damaged and diseased trees. This strand of trees, to the north of the Galena trail, overgrown and without treatment, carries the risk of fuel buildups and subsequent destructive wildfires. This process of selective thinning and removal of affected trees is all for the goal of a healthier forest.
