June marked the celebration of Distributed Wind month, which featured the industries two main events: The Distributed Wind Expo and the Small Wind Conference. Rochester, NY hosted the Distributed Wind Expo that featured many of the industry's leading manufactures, installers, and developers. Customers from around the region joined the industry to learn about the benefits of wind energy at their site. Attendees of these educational sessions included: farmers, government facility managers, school administrators, and home owners. Many of these potential customers participated in a wind tour to view Sustainable Energy Development's installations at Harbec Plastics. The event was a great success!

Later in the month, Steven's Point hosted the ninth annual Small Wind Conference, highlighting many of the industry's leaders in manufacturing and installing. The event saw record numbers of exhibitors and delivered a program agenda full of industry experts. Attendees reported that the show provided important information for the industry to continue to develop.

Overall, Distributed Wind month was a great success. Convening the industry to develop market and political strategy, continue education, and educate the public on the benefits of wind is critical for the growth of the distributed wind market. We look forward to celebrating together again next year!
