Our Trip to Spain & Portugal

We began our journey in January, 2018 with our Travel Agent, Shelley Atkinson. On April 25th, we boarded a limousine heading for the Tallahassee airport to begin an unforgettable trip. The day we landed in Portugal, we visited the Marquis de Pombal Square and dined at a small café along the street of Lisbon. Our Tauck tour began the following day with visits to The National Coach Museum, and the Monasterio du Jeronimos. We enjoyed a delicious Portuguese pastry as we viewed the Discoveries Monument where vessels departed in the 15th-century to discover new worlds.
We enjoyed touring the 14th-century Royal Palace in Sintra, the fishing village of Cascais, the 15th-century church of Sao Francisco, the Cathedral of St. Maria, and finally the 15th-century convent with a 1000 year old olive tree in Evora, which ended our time in Portugal.

Paris & the Heart of Normandy

What a wonderful adventure we had on the Viking Paris & the Heart of Normandy cruise. Our group of two sisters and two cousins live on the four opposite ends of the country, so it is not easy for us to visit. The solution was a trip where we all had to travel. We couldn’t have made a better choice than Paris, the French countryside, and a cruise up the Seine.

We took full advantage of our 3-day Paris extension prior to the cruise. One day we hired a private tour guide who led us from one end of Paris to the other, sharing lots of information about the city that we had never learned from previous trips or from our reading. We saw and understood Montmartre and Sacré Coeur as never before. We found time to visit some of the traditional Parisian sights like the Eiffel Tower and Musée D’Orsay. And Viking provided a very nice walking tour of the Marais district.
