Books at 4th of July Parade
We were able to pass out 1285 books during the 4th of July parade, thanks to everyone's generous donation of books. Pictured below are the 475 books that were collected by Community Bank & Trust. We wish we had a picture of us at the parade, but our hands were full of books.


 

United Way of Muscatine is receiving a  donation from HNI Corporate for providing volunteers to their family day.

2016 Campaign Chairs Announced
We are happy to announce that Alyshea Froelich and Nick Gow are chairs for the 2016 Campaign.

"Alyshea and Nick have been strong partners of United Way, making them great choices as our campaign chairs this year." said Shane Orr, CPO. "Alyshea is on our board and was a very involved community investment granting committee volunteer this year. Nick has worked with us for years lining up City projects for our Day of Caring volunteers. They both are community leaders who want to make Muscatine the best it can be."

"As a small business owner, I know the importance of shopping local. Through volunteering in United Way's granting process, I saw how important it is to also GIVE LOCAL.", explained Alyshea Froelich. "United Way donations stay right here in our community. That's why our campaign theme this year is GIVE LOCAL."

We will be kicking off our campaign a little differently this year. "We really want to create a lot of excitement around the start of the campaign. On September 15th we will have a family friendly event from 5-7pm at the Pearl City Station. Keep an eye out for more details as we get closer to the event.", said Alyshea Froelich.

The annual fundraising campaign will take place September 15th-December 31st.

Thank You  Summer Lunch  Volunteers

Did you know it takes 14 or more volunteers each day to run the Summer Lunch Program. Some volunteers sign up multiple days a week, many take one day a week and others are very important fill ins that step in when we need them. We are lucky to have such great volunteers in our community. To the church, co-worker, family and friend teams that have been helping run this program, THANK YOU!
