There are so many ways to get involved in Conflict Resolution Month. One of the best ways is to become a Synergizer and join a Team!

Conflict Resolution Month Teams are groups of folks who have come together to coordinate an aspect of Conflict Resolution Month. There is a wide range of diversity in team activities--chances are, there is a team that would be a great fit for the contribution of your time and talents!

Check out the details of each team here.  If you don't see a team that's right for you, feel free to attend the monthly Synergizer meeting and suggest something new!

July, 2016

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
A brief reminder: On Wednesday, July 20 at 7pm we will be discussing our book, Forgiving Others, Forgiving Ourselves at the Colfax Tattered Cover. We hope to see you there!
We are honored that Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado chose our book for its 2016 selection. That organization will donate hundreds of copies to Colorado legislators, judges, libraries, etc. Ours is the first book by local authors that the organization has selected.

Myra Isenhart & Michael Spangle, authors
Our first Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado "Road Trip of 2016" departed on Friday, July 8 th, when Mary Zinn and Cary Leher drove down to Colorado Springs to attend the monthly meeting of the Conflict Resolution Conference Planning Group.  The 11 th Annual Conflict Resolution Conference will take place on Thursday, October 20 th, at Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs. Our thanks to Monica Lichtenberger of Phoenix Strategies for including us on the agenda!
Then it was on to Rocky Ford, La Junta , Las Animas , and Lamar to call on the local libraries and meet with Family Court Facilitators.  On Monday we return ed via Pueblo where we had a great meeting with Midori Clark, Director of Community Relations & Development at the beautiful Pueblo City-County Library. She will plan to integrate the message and materials of Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado with her month-long "Pueblo Reads" event this October.
During our free time, we visited Amache to pay our respects to the Japanese people who were interned there at the Granada Relocation Center during World War II. We also got to tour La Junta's spectacular Koshare Indian Museum and stroll along the paths of Pueblo's Riverwalk where icy gelato helped us get through the 103-degree heat!
Later in the summer, Statewide Outreach will travel to Aspen, Boulder, Summit County, and Alamosa to visit libraries and attend gatherings of Conflict Resolution professionals and volunteers.  We are also looking forward to hosting an El Paso County lunch presentation on Friday, August 26 th, for a wide audience of Colorado Springs-area folks who are interested in planning events to take place during the month of October. So stay tuned .... Additional plans will develop over the next few weeks.

Returning from a thumbs up excursion in Southwestern Colorado, Mary Zinn and Cary Leher!
How do you feel about conflict resolution without words? Does it go against the basic principle of communicating, or can it help pave a path for more effective communication in a relationship? You decide! Read Margaret Paul's article in the Huff Post here!
Next Meeting:
