Business is booming in Kentucky, and it is thanks in large part to the state’s commitment to providing new and existing companies with a pro-business environment. Since Gov. Matt Bevin took office in December 2015, Kentucky’s economic development efforts broke record after record, and legislative changes – along with the governor’s mission to make Kentucky the hub for manufacturing and engineering excellence in America – have been the driving forces behind that success.

DAE-IL Breaks Ground in Murray as Kentucky Strengthens Ties with South Korea
Kentucky continues to be a player on the international stage, and last week that was made clear once again when officials from DAE-IL Corp. broke ground in Murray on the company’s first US operation. Cabinet leadership was in attendance as the company began work on its $50 million, 120-job automotive parts facility.

Following the SelectUSA Investment Summit in D.C. in June, executives from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development discussed the impact of Gov. Bevin and #TeamKentucky. During the summit, Gov. Bevin delivered an address and the entire team spent days meeting with internationally based businesses to encourage them to invest and create jobs in Kentucky.

In recently hiring Erran Persley, an expert in international business development who most recently served as a foreign direct investment advisor/consultant at the US Department of Commerce, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development seeks to support and grow new investment and job creation by internationally based companies.

Idea State U, a statewide business concept competition, encourages entrepreneurship and innovation among Kentucky’s college and university students. This year’s competition included 30 teams from 13 colleges and universities competing to place in the Business Plan and Business Model categories.
