Don't miss the fun! Get your friends together and join us for this exciting Paint Nite fundraiser for the Patterson Library Friends. Create your own “masterpiece” at this fun, lively event with step-by-step instructions from a professional artist. For two hours you’ll laugh, learn, listen to great music, and enjoy refreshments all while supporting the Patterson Library. There’s no experience necessary, and we’ll provide all the supplies, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

The event begins at 7 PM, so please arrive by 6:30 to get your seats and refreshments. Ticket price is $45.00 and includes all supplies, a glass of wine, appetizers, and a great sense of community for supporting the Patterson Library. Seats are limited, register early. Metal Detecting: The Art of Treasure Hunting

Join us for a fascinating look into the world of metal detecting. Roger Young, member of the Putnam/Westchester Metal Detectorists & Archeological Society, will share his knowledge and expertise in this fun and interesting presentation. Learn how you can start finding your own treasures with basic information on equipment, where to go, how to avoid hazards, and the many benefits of metal detecting. Plus, see Roger’s amazing collection of items he has found over the years including beautiful jewelry, coins, artifacts and more. * The collection will also be on exhibit in the library late June - July.
Movie Matinee: Brooklyn

Come see Brooklyn on the big screen! A wonderful film based on the award winning novel by Colm Tolbin. An Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls in love with a local boy. When her past catches up with her, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Summer Reading Logs & Game
Enter Monday, June 27 to Friday, July 1
to win Renegades tickets!
Stop by the library during the last week of June to fill out your summer reading log and receive a free book, plus enter to win a family 4-pack of tickets to a Renegades game! Fill out your log each time you come to the library until August 12 and receive raffle tickets for the weekly prize! Babies to grade 4: 1 ticket for every 15 minutes you read. Grade 5 and up: 1 ticket for every 30 minutes of reading.

Two-year-old children and their caregivers will read exciting stories, sing lively, interactive songs, and create a beautiful craft to take home with Miss Kathleen.

Is your three-year old not ready for drop-off      story time? Then join us for this wonderful        new session with Miss Jenn that lets siblings 7+  or a caregiver stay with a little one. Great stories, singing songs, and awesome crafts are all part of the fun.

Preschool Power

This drop-off story time for ages 3 to 4 allows children to explore stories, create a unique craft, and sing classic songs with Miss Kathleen!

Children who are entering kindergarten or who have just completed kindergarten may join Miss Kathleen for a fun spin on story time! Enjoy some of the story time classics such as songs, stories, and bubbles! We will also play fun games and use our flannel board.

Keep your mind sharp this summer! Kids in grades K-5 can join a teenage buddy to practice reading, math facts, work on book reports, etc. Attend Summer Learning Buddies on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 and/or Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30. Call Miss Jenn or Miss Kathleen at (845) 878-6121 x13 or x18 to schedule time with a teen and to discuss what activities you would like to complete!

Folk singer Pete Seeger impacted the world with traditional folk songs, songs of activism and protest, songs from around the world and his own anthems of affirmation. Robert Cohen, an accomplished speaker, has been lecturing on American folk and popular music for over a quarter of a century and will share his vast knowledge and experiences working with Pete Seeger at the New School in this fascinating presentation filled with songs and stories.
Kids' Programs:  

Tuesday, June 21   1 PM
Are you interested in becoming a top notch babysitter?! Young people ages 11 and up will learn the basics of child care, the responsibilities of sitters and parents, and what to do in an emergency. A short test will be given and participants will receive a certificate of completion. Bring pencils, paper and a snack to gear up for this 4 hour program!

Kick Off the Summer: Movie Night

For grades K and up. School's OUT! Join us for the newest Disney Channel Original movie, Adventures in Babysitting. Two teen rival babysitters team up to hunt down one of their kids who ran away into the big city without any supervision.
