I treasure the assurance that I'm surrounded, enfolded and immersed in the love of God. Divine love is there before I was aware; even knowing me to my core, with all my flaws and quirks, God (still) loves me. Everything changes for me because of that.
Living in the awareness of God's love and grace is like having jumped into a cool, clear pool on a hot summer day: it's new life, it's grace and it makes everything better.
This Sunday, we're celebrating Jump In Sunday; I hope you'll be with us as we honor how good it is to follow Christ in our lives. Whether you're ready for a new way to be involved in growing in love of God and neighbor, or ready to re-commit yourself to ministries you've long been a part of, this Sunday is a wonderful chance to "jump in" to meaningful life with your church community. There are opportunities to care for others, to learn and grow in faith, to serve the needs of the community and more.
To jump in:
Come to worship at any of our three regular services: 8:30, 9:30 & 11a.m.
Plan to be on campus between 10:30-11a.m., for Jump In fun.
Eat breakfast with others at church, at the breakfast buffet our youth are providing. (Free will offering accepted.)
Sign up for big and small ways to dive deeper in involvement with this community.
Worship will be especially rich this week--we're presenting Bibles to some of our children at the 9:30 service. The choir will be back for the fall--with handbells and full voices--at 11. I hope you can be there, and a part of our ministries as we serve Christ together.
For families with children and youth:
There will be a special table for registering young people--it will cover all our children, family and youth activities for the 2013-2014 school year. (We'll ask you to check the info we have here, and to fill out a permission/medical form for each child. You can download, print and fill it out ahead of time, by clicking this link.) We will have lots of games and jumping fun--even a bounce house--on Sunday, some come ready to play!
