Community Art and the Library First Friday

The Two Rivers Student Art Show, "Plant a Seed and Build a Better World," will have a reception from 4:30pm until 6:30pm in the Meeting Room of the Watauga County Public Library for the First Friday Art Crawl on June 2nd.  In keeping with the summer reading theme of Build a Better World, the students have created seed and nature art pieces for display, helping to "Build a Better World" through their artwork.  Work from students in grades K-8 will be on display either in the Meeting Room or in the library from June 1-6.
Thank you to the Downtown Boone Development Association, the Friends of the Watauga County Public Library and the High Country Watermedia Society for their support!

Summer Reading Program
Build a Better World!

Build a better world locally and create a positive change by bringing a canned good (peanut butter, jelly, or cereal) for the Health and Hunger Coalition or a food item for your favorite pet (dog or cat) for the Watauga Humane Society when you sign up for summer reading at the library.  Just as skyscrapers are built to great heights, one brick at a time, participants will find themselves reaching for the stars through hands-on learning experiences this summer.  Children who join the summer library program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed.  So, go forth and build a better world.

The 2017 Summer Reading Program, Build a Better World, is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story times, and more.  Registration for "Build a Better World" begins on June 1st.  All programs are free of charge and we are very grateful to the Friends of the Watauga County Public Library for their support!
