Make Music Day
Make Music Day_ June 21 
Wednesday, June 21, 6pm-8:30pm, Lafayette Library Amphitheater

Held annually on June 21, Make Music Day is part of the international Fête de la Musique, taking place in 700 cities across 120 countries. The daylong, musical free-for-all celebrates music in all its forms, encouraging people to band together and play in free public concerts. This year, Lafayette is excited to again participate in Make Music Day. Live karaoke, songs from the 60s will be held 6pm-8:30pm at the Library Amphitheater.

Now this is your chance to sing with a live band! Eighteen slots are available for lead singers and instrument accompaniments. Select your song from our songlist. Then complete the online form. Moraga Art Gallery's Spring Show, "Color and Caprice"

The Moraga Art Gallery's springtime show, "Color and Caprice," is an exhibit that spotlights member artist, Angelica Samame's eye-catching collection of stylized portraits of sophisticated women and guest artist, Elizabeth Russell's ceramics.

California Shakespeare Theater begins its 43rd Season with Shakespeare's gender-bending comedy, As You Like It
Now through June 18, Bruns Amphitheater, Orinda

California Shakespeare Theater begins its 43rd Season with Shakespeare's gender-bending comedy, As You Like It. In director Desdemona Chiang's all new production, adaptable and resilient Rosalind must leave everything she knows behind to find her true family. Disguised as a boy named Ganymede, she and her cousin Celia journey through the forests of Arden with the jester Touchstone, meeting both long-lost and newfound friends. Realizing that family is not just for those related by blood, she sheds her identity and transforms her relationships, discovering who she is along the way. Groove to the Tunes of the Jazz Café in Lafayette

Stanley Middle School's Multi-Purpose Room will transform into the Jazz Café on Friday, June 2 featuring an outstanding lineup of local youth talent. Stanley's Crusaders and Jazz Messengers are slated to join with Campolindo's Jazz Band and Acalanes' Jazz Ensemble for this once-a-year event to create a truly memorable evening of music. Tortilleria El Molino will offer a selection of delicious food for cash-only purchase from 5:30-7pm. Beverages, coffee and homemade desserts will also be available throughout the night. Lafayette Kids' Cottage presents THE TIME MACHINE

Grab your flapper fringe, hippie threads, and purple paisley Hammer pants to enjoy Lafayette Kids' Cottage "Time Machine -- A Song and Dance Review of America's Past 100 Years". Lamorinda children from 3 to 13 years old will sing and dance their way through America's cultural heritage from the 1920's to today. You will hear songs you love, performed by a cast dressed in fashions from each decade. There will be audience participation between acts: a rousing version of naming classic hit songs to win fun prizes! Even more eventful when you come in a costume from your favorite decade. A boisterous, funny, and memorable trip down memory lane for all ages, and a fun way to start new connections with relatives. CASA volunteers advocate one-on-one for abused and neglected children and youth in the foster care system to make sure they do not get lost in the over-burdened legal system or languish in an inappropriate placement. "EXPERIMENTS AND EXPLORATIONS" AT THE MORAGA ART GALLERY

June 7th marks the arrival of a new exhibit at the  Moraga Art Gallery. The show's title, "Experiments and Explorations," suggests adventurous efforts by artists who take risks and follow less-traveled creative roads. The public is invited to a free opening reception on Saturday, June 10th from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery at 522 Center Street in Moraga's Rheem Shopping Center.  Come to meet the artists and enjoy light snacks, a glass of wine, and live music. Reserve your space in the Orinda 4th of July Parade

July 4th is an Orinda tradition started by the Orinda Association in the early 1980s as a way to celebrate not only Independence Day, but also to celebrate "community." Thousands of citizens gather on this special day to not only watch or participate in the parade, but also attend the numerous other events available throughout the day. Wildlife of the East Bay Area

The LCG-OLC is grateful to welcome back local Naturalist and Wildlife expert, James "Doc" Hale for Wildlife of the East Bay Area: From the Pleistocene to the Present! Doc will discuss the local Pleistocene Megafauna, their extirpation, and the evolution of the East Bay Area wildlife landscape. He will also talk about his own mountain lion and Walnut Creek fisheries research. Those who are familiar with Doc's fascinating and informative presentations know what a special experience this will most certainly be! Our classes are free. Diablo Ballet's PAWS de Tutu

Come out for a dog-gone good time as Diablo Ballet presents the 2nd Annual's PAWS de Tutu dog festival on Saturday, June 24th, at the Lafayette Reservoir. Benefiting Diablo Ballet's PEEK (Performing Arts Education & Enrichment for Kids) Youth Outreach Program, this PAWsome day includes:

- Demonstrations by the Concord and Oakland K-9 Police units
- A dog yoga demonstration
- a dog costume and pet tricks competition
- Adorable, adoptable doggies from ARF and Rocket Dog Rescue
- Free photos with your dog
- A walk around the Lafayette Reservoir for you and your pooch
- Vendors, snacks and a complimentary goodie bag for all
