President's Perspective
New East Baltimore School Promises Change
United Way of Central Maryland President & CEO Mark Furst
Everyone who is concerned about educational disparities and believes that a high-quality education is the most certain path out of poverty should know that something remarkable occurred in east Baltimore early on Monday evening (June 11th). That's when ground was broken ceremonially on the first new public school in east Baltimore in 25 years.
Looking for activities this summer to do with your family?
We are hosting Families Living United "Harvest Helper" events at local farms to harvest produce that will go to our food-insecure neighbors. These are a great way to introduce your kids to volunteering!
Many thanks to our generous Families Living United sponsor, OneMain Financial.
