IRS TO PAY BACK-REFUNDS TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told Congress on Wednesday that even illegal immigrants who didn't pay taxes will be able to claim back-refunds once they get Social Security numbers under President Obama's temporary deportation amnesty.
The revelation - which contradicts what he told Congress last week - comes as lawmakers also raised concerns Mr. Obama's amnesty could open a window to illegal immigrants finding ways to vote, despite it being against the law.
"While we may disagree about whether your deferred action programs were lawfully created and implemented, we are confident that we can all agree that these programs cannot be permitted to impair the integrity of our elections," Republican members of Congress from Ohio wrote in a letter to Mr. Obama Wednesday, ahead of a hearing on the issue in the House on Thursday.
Prayer focus: Serious friction exists among the branches of U.S. government. Partisan public debate is not uncommon and may be healthy and in order. Note the direct comment in this article over the inexplicable IRS fiasco, as Representative Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) said, "That's just outrageous ... another example of the administration [i.e., Pres. Obama] operating outside the rule of law." The charge is very serious. Intercede for a renewal of national unity that can only come through revival in the Church and a national return to God. Let us all seek the Lord for a spiritual awakening.

OBAMA SECRETLY BACKING MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD
President Obama and his administration continue to support the global Islamist militant group known the Muslim Brotherhood. A White House strategy document regards the group as a moderate alternative to more violent Islamist groups like al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
The policy of backing the Muslim Brotherhood is outlined in a secret directive called Presidential Study Directive-11, or PSD-11. The directive was produced in 2011 and outlines administration support for political reform in the Middle East and North Africa, according to officials familiar with the classified study.
Efforts to force the administration to release the directive or portions of it under the Freedom of Information Act have been unsuccessful.
Prayer focus: No added commentary is needed here. The integrity of Bill Gertz's work as a veteran news researcher and reporter in Washington, D.C. is beyond reproach, and Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy has a similar reputation. Pray for truth to be revealed and all secret deals that might harm our country to be exposed. Ask God for His mercy to turn America back to Himself.

THE WELFARE STATE KEEPS GROWING
America's welfare state keeps growing because Congress allows bureaucrats to expand programs, immune from accountability to voters.
A fresh example is the proposal to give free Internet service to tens of millions of people, to be granted by the five nonelected commissioners at the Federal Communications Commission. All were appointed by President Obama. Chairman Tom Wheeler announced his intent for the expansion; he likely expects to steamroller the FCC's two Republican members again, just as he did in the fight over so-called net neutrality.
Millions of people already get free phones through a fraud-ridden FCC program infamously nicknamed "Obamaphones." The correct title is "Lifeline." Expanding this to the Internet (or should it be "Obamanet?") could add tens of millions of people, according to FCC's loose eligibility criteria.
Prayer focus: For many years, phone bills have been a convenient vehicle for government, at various levels, to add small increments of tax for various "causes." Often, this has been unnoticed, and usually unchallenged. Although these unaccountable tax increases are irritating, they are merely "skirmishes," not the real battle. We encourage intercessors to pace themselves, to see the bigger picture, and to follow King David's example when he "strengthened himself in the Lord." As we intercede faithfully, God will bring justice in His timing.
"Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened [encouraged] himself in the Lord his God."(1 Sam. 30:6)

ALCOHOLISM SPIKING
Alcohol problems affect almost 33 million adults and most have never sought treatment. That's according to a government survey indicating that rates have increased in recent years.
It's the first national estimate based on a new definition of "alcohol use disorders" in a widely used psychiatric handbook that was updated two years ago. Fourteen percent of adults are affected.
Prayer focus: Some of the statistical increase in alcohol abuse is among veterans who, many times, come home from fields of battle without receiving the medical and emotional support they need and deserve. Here is a potential door of ministry for the Church to reach out in love and non-judgmental ministry. Pray that people addicted to alcohol and drugs will find help, support, and freedom in Christ.
"The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them." (Ps. 145:18-19)
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Ps. 147:3)

EVEN NON-CHRISTIANS BENEFIT FROM VIRTUES
While America was undoubtedly founded upon a bedrock of religious freedom, it is equally true that the Christian faith has been probably the greatest contributor to the social fabric of this country.
Even as the country seems to drift away from Christian values, there are still far more people in church on Sunday than at the football stadium. Despite the fact that gay marriage and out-of-wedlock births have become more prevalent, the overwhelming majority of Americans continue to celebrate the Christian holidays. In fact, the reason why many homosexuals seem to have fought for the right to marry is not because they merely want the same social benefits and legal rights as heterosexual married couples, but they also crave the spiritual and communal benefits bestowed upon marriage by the Christian faith.
Pray that America's Christians will demonstrate the love that our Lord has for His creation in ways that will move upon the hearts of the lost souls throughout the land. Pray for the salvation of those who are lost in this world of sin while there is yet time.
