Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day PeaceWhat better way to celebrate the special man (or men) in your life than at the farmers market?

Show dad, grandpa, your husband, brothers and/or uncles how much you love them by treating them to a delicious and memorable breakfast, brunch or lunch together. Then gift them a reusable bag and then let them shop for the week's edibles or at least his Father's Day dinner.

This is a great way to put a smile on the face of that special man (men) in your life and support the local food movement!

What's New?

Last week we welcomed two new vendors, Tonya Bates, Patridge in a PIE Tree, and Joaquin Avellan, Dos Lunas Artisan Cheese. If you didn't get to sample their culinary creations, please stop by and meet them this

Musical Guests: Jasper's Cast
Jasper's Cast

What do you get when you mix folk, rock and bluegrass with catchy melodies, rich harmonies and energetic live performances? Jasper's Cast!

These four college students have been making inroads in the Texas music scene since 2009.  Cast members Eric Elliot (vocals and dulcimer), Scott Riggle (mandolin, bass, vocals), Jackson Floyd (guitar, bass, organ, vocals) and Jeremy Aulden (drums) comprise a passionately creative group of musicians with a timeless sound. Influences include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jack White and Westerns.

Their self-titled EP will be available for purchase.

Featured Vendor: Katie's Jar

Katie's Jar Andrea

Andrea Thompson was never a "dog person." In fact, she promised herself she would never own a dog. That is, until she met Katie.

Katie, a beagle Andrea rescued from the pound, turned her world around.

It wasn't long before Andrea was researching homemade dog treats because she didn't like what was available at the store. Using all-natural ingredients, she tested lots of recipes. Naturally, Katie and other dogs were testers. They lapped everything up and barked for more!!

In no time at all, Andrea's dog treat making skills turned into a business, Katie's Jar. And that makes our tail-wagging four-legged friends so happy...which makes us happy.

Fresh Picks: Squash and Zucchini
golden zucchini
Golden zucchini
Squash and zucchini are hot ticket veggies in the summer. Nearly every farmer grows them and you'll find a growing number of choices.

Not a fan of green zucchini? Try golden zucchini. Sweeter than it's counterpart, we think this is the golden choice.

Crooked neck and straight neck squash. Acorn squash. Pattypan squash. Spaghetti squash. Calabaza.

Summer squash and zucchini are low in calories, yet rich in Vitamin A and C.
