You and your children can help continue Our Daily Bread's tradition of daily meal service to those in need by making and donating casseroles. Casserole assembly is an easy, fun family activity, and a good way to teach your children to help those less fortunate. Families can become regular monthly casserole donors if interested. BioBlitz at Masonville Cove
National Aquarium & Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center
 
Date/Time: Saturday, June 18, 10am - 1pm
 
Location: Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center, 1000 Frankfurst Ave, Baltimore

Bioblitz is an all day event where scientists, naturalists, students, teachers, families, and other volunteers work together to find, identify, and record as many living organisms that can be found in a specific habitat. By combining biological fieldwork and education, a bioblitz inspires stewardship in the local community. With the help of local experts, Masonville Cove BioBlitz volunteers will conduct a biological survey of the Cove through hands-on activities, and learn about the actions needed to protect wildlife .
 
Ages: Volunteers must be at least 5 years old. All volunteers younger than18 years old will need to be supervised by an adult.

Sandwich Squad Volunteer Event

Volunteers will make bagged lunches to help those in need.

Lynch Cove Run Stream Cleanup
Clean Bread & Cheese Creek
 
Date/Time: Saturday, June 25, 9am - 2pm. Registration is between 8 and 9am.
 
Location: 1799 Merritt Blvd, Dundalk. Cleanup will be located in the stream alongside the parking lot of the Merritt Park Baptist Church and running downstream from there.

Volunteer for the cleanup of Lynch Cover Run Stream in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's Annual Project Clean Stream! Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed! Help us remove the trash before it flows into Bear Creek, the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean! Every piece of trash removed is a small victory to be celebrated! This cleanup is run as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate.  Every person of every ability level is welcome to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including:
  • Digging out shopping carts and hauling trash to the dumpsters.
  • Running water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek.
  • Assisting with registration, food and snacks set-up, as well as many other less strenuous activities.
Volunteers will be provided with lunch, snacks, and water as well as gloves and trash bags. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but please bring your own if you have them. 
 
Ages: Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate.
 
Time Commitment: Volunteers can stay for as long or as little as they like. A brief five-minute orientation is given prior to the start of the event.

Harvest Helpers Volunteer Event at First Fruits Farm

Have a green thumb? Have kids that like to dig in the dirt and get their hands dirty? Or perhaps you're looking to get that perfect farmer's tan? If so, our Families Living United Harvest Helpers volunteer event is for you. Bring your family and friends to harvest produce that will be donated to families in need as a part of our efforts to keep communities healthy.
