Sarah Price, art instructor at Connie Hudson Mobile Regional Senior Community Center, said goodbye to friends and coworkers at a farewell-and-good-luck party in her honor Monday, May 15. Sarah has been a part-time employee at the Center for the past five years, and according to Senior Activities Director, Ashley-Nicole Flowers, "She is irreplaceable." Sarah and her husband, John, basketball coach at Faith Academy, are moving to St. Joseph, Missouri, where John received an excellent job offer. Bess Rich, CHMRSCC Foundation member, considered Sarah's leaving a great loss to the Center, as did Jim and Joanne Conlon, both artists themselves. Sean Webb, a longtime student in Price's classes, said that she is "heartbroken," and others among the many gathered to say goodbye voiced similar sentiments. In saying farewell, Sarah read a fitting essay that began with "Life happens. Things change" and ended with a message to her seniors: "You are the joy of my heart." |
