2018 Artist Research and Development Grants
Deadline: August 24, 2017  
The application period for Artist Research and Development Grants is now open. This highly-competitive grant program awards up to $5,000 to Arizona artists practicing in a variety of artistic disciplines in support of research and development leading to the creation of new works of art. 

Workshops and Information Sessions 
To help you prepare your application, the Arts Commission will present online information sessions and host in-person grantwriting workshops throughout the summer leading up to the application deadline. 

Online Information Sessions 
During a live webinar-style presentation, Arts Commission staff will walk potential applicants through the ARDG guidelines while offering tips and resources for successful grantwriting.

Competitive Grantwriting Workshops 
Free workshops designed to help artists craft superior grant applications will be offered throughout the state. Using the Arts Commission's Artist Research and Development Grant as a model, participants will learn the essential components of a strong application as they play the role of reviewers in a mock grant review panel.

Rancho Linda Vista Writers Workshop
Rancho Linda Vista Arts Community
Location: Oracle, AZ
Deadline: July 15, 2017 before Midnight
On the eve of its 50th anniversary, the renowned Rancho Linda Vista Arts Community invites writers at different stages to apply for its inaugural Writers Workshop, Nov. 4-11, 2017. Award-winning poet Adrian Matejka (www.adrianmatejka.com) will lead participants, in a rustic setting of unparalleled beauty. Room/meals included.

Artist in Residence 
Zion National Park
Location: Zion Canyon, UT
Deadline: July 31, 2017
Every year, Zion National Park, in partnership with Southern Utah University's Fine Arts Department, selects four artist to live in a historic cabin for one month in the heart of Zion Canyon in southwestern Utah. Artists interact with the visiting public on a daily basis, present two public programs, and six months after their residency has concluded donate a piece of artwork representative of their time in Zion to the park.

Residency
MOCA Tucson
Location: Tucson, AZ
Deadline: August 1, 2017
In the fall of 2017, MOCA is re-launching its Artist-in-Residence program. Artists working in all media and at any stage of their career are welcome to apply for residencies for a minimum of 3 weeks and a maximum of 3 months between October 1 and December 31, 2017. The selected artists will each receive a 400 sq. ft. live/work space to create new work at MOCA Tucson with the option of a solo presentation of that work in January 2018.

Artist Residency in Oregon
PLAYA
Location: Summer Lake, OR
Deadline: September 1, 2017
Two and four week residencies available in a remote, gorgeous location on the edge of the Great Basin. PLAYA offers creative individuals the space, the solitude and the community to reflect and to engage their work through its residency program. PLAYA supports innovative thinking through work in the arts, literature, natural sciences and other fields of creative inquiry and encourages dialogue between disciplines to bring positive change to the environment and the world.

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, located in Nebraska City, NE offers from sixty to seventy juried residencies per year to visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists from across the country and around the world.

Arizona Humanities supports innovative, community-based projects that use humanities disciplines to connect Arizonans to the cultures, peoples, and histories of the state and beyond. We welcome proposals from a wide range of nonprofit organizations and encourages projects that are innovative in their approach toward the humanities and public programming.

Visual Arts Grants  
Robert Lehman Foundation

Grants are made on an individual basis to museums, arts organizations, educational institutions and other cultural organizations with the goal of enhancing the role of the visual arts within American and world culture. Within these broad parameters, the Foundation is open to a wide range of projects from art education programs, museum exhibitions and outreach to art history lectureships and scholarly publications.
