Family Room Dedication - this Sunday!

June 4th
Pentecost Sunday,
 we will dedicate our new
Family Room!
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,
for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Hebrews 13:16
Well the day is finally here!
We are happy to dedicate our new beach inspired
at The Beach Church.
Volunteers have done all the work and the funds have come from
several outside donors just as we were praying for the
ability to transform this space, if it be God's will.
Here is our list of Recognition and Gratitude for all those involved!
A special heartfelt thank you goes out to the
"Krewe of Wrecks" here on Pensacola Beach
for their extremely generous donation given in Pastor Jim's name,
for an invocation he gave at one of their events.
We used all the funds from this donation to renovate this much needed space.
Your generosity is overwhelming and we thank you!
Pam Davis - Designer/Owner of
Blessed Life Creations in Gulf Breeze, for agreeing to refinish
a few costal pieces for us at a great price - she then offered to deliver them
& pick up her awaiting payment. - when she arrived - she not only donated her time
BUT ALL THE PIECES to our Church. You have an incredibly giving heart and we are so grateful.
This allowed us to take those funds we had set aside and put them into the family room also.
(Pam has a booth at 98 Treasures in Gulf Breeze and does incredible work)
You are a true blessing to us Pam. Thank you!
Matchett Towing & Recovery
has partnered with us for vehicle towing during the busy
holiday weekends on Pensacola Beach. They've used our lot  in the past
with no vehicles to tow and  yet they sent us funds and a
Thank you  for our partnership, just because!
We used these funds also for the Family Room space. Thank you Matchett!
If you haven't already seen the finished design you have to stop in and take a peek.
The kids have so much fun playing with all the toys and the grownups
love relaxing with a hot cup of coffee or sitting down just to hang out and relax.
This room will also be used by our Beach Church Brides as they get ready
for their "Once in a Lifetime" special day,
along with small groups that meet throughout the week.
The Power of Prayer is humbling
as we realize that this had all come to be within 2 days, one after another,
and that the Lord was saying...
Yes, I absolutely love the idea of a family room at The Beach Church... "Let's Do IT"
...and HE did!

Please make plans to attend on June 4th
 for our Pentecost Service...

Celebrate the new Leadership of our Church,
Dedication of our new Family Room,
and Communion Sunday.

Church member needs your help
Jackie Henderson's home was severely damaged by a fire
and she, with her mother, have been forced to find
temporary housing until the many needed repairs can be made.
If you, or anyone you know, has
temporary housing on the Beach
or near the beach, please let us know at the Church Office
and we will pass that information along to Jackie!

A Note from Our Pastor
         Grace and Peace
"...if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."  ( Philippians 4:8)
These words from the Apostle Paul have influenced all kinds of thinking.
In Christian devotionals, life coaching seminars, and books on organizational
leadership, we are encouraged to maintain a positive attitude.
When you read them in their original context, they affirm that the advice from
this ancient letter provides a powerful truth for living -- namely, that intentional  focus
on what is good, is not just kind hearted encouragement, but essential to a life well lived.
Surely this is how Paul was able to have such a profound impact in the
communities he served. He knew intimately the struggles of bringing disruptive truth into
the world.  He preached the message of a resurrected Jesus and the hope that is found when
faith and forgiveness subvert money and power.  This message stirred the hearts
of many people and drew the ire of many more.
It sounds a lot like the tensions of this day and age.  People are divided into camps,
tribes, clans, ideologies; many of them angrily defending their territory.
Many more are discouraged and seeking ways to cope with the chaos.  Paul's counsel
offers us a healthy way to move forward. Because the truth is, among other things, that
we need each other.  And amidst the disorder, it's critical we focus our attention on
what is best and most virtuous.
It's easy to see the flaws in the others arguments or to feel threatened by views of the
world that differ from our own. But when we look for what is praise worthy in the
world around us, we may discover the places where God has been the whole time and
we are just now noticing.  Think on the things that are true and beautiful.
Think of the people and situations that frustrate you and prayerfully look for beauty.
In humility and contrition you'll find that this way of engaging the world is more
than the power of positive thinking.  It enables us to experience the pervasive
presence of the Divine in the everyday.
Grace and Peace,

jim beach
